Raise a Glass to Prohibition: Alcatraz East Hosts Trivia Tuesdays with Prizes and More

Alcatraz East Crime Museum, located in Pigeon Forge, is turning up the fun on prohibition trivia

PIGEON FORGE, Tennessee (December 5, 2024)–Prohibition is in the spotlight during December 2024 at Alcatraz East Crime Museum. In honor of Repeal Day, December 5, they will be hosting a Prohibition Trivia Tuesday’s Social Media Event on each of the first four Tuesdays of the month. During these fun online events, people can participate in the trivia contest and win special prizes. 

 

“This will be a fun and interactive way to put this period in American history in the spotlight,” says Ally Pennington, artifacts and programs manager at Alcatraz East Crime Museum. “We encourage everyone to log on and test their Prohibition knowledge for a chance to win some great prizes.”

 

Trivia Tuesdays will give online participants a chance to win special prizes and weigh in on trivia questions. Here are the dates they will be held and what prizes will be given away: 

 

December 3, 2024 – Alcatraz East Crime Book Club Bundle, includes: a copy of “Prints of a Man” by Arthur Bohanan, who was part of the 9/11 rescue efforts, “Go Down Together” by Jeff Guinn, and “Assassins…Serial Killers…Corrupt Cops…” by Mary Neiswender.

December 10, 2024 – Alcatraz East Family Four Pack of tickets.

 

December 17, 2024 – Alcatraz East Merch Bundle, which includes an Alcatraz East t-shirt, ornament, cup, keychain, and stickers. 

December 24, 2024 – Two Alcatraz East general admission tickets with the Top Detective Challenge Scavenger Hunt. 

 

To participate in the event, fans will need to visit Alcatraz East’s Facebook page every Tuesday, where they will comment on the trivia post with their answers. Then, they will need to like and share the post for a chance at the prize for that week. Winners will be notified on the following Wednesday via Facebook.

The museum features over 100 exhibits and interactives and four temporary exhibit spaces, with many famous items on display, including Al Capone’s rosary, Ted Bundy’s dental molds, and Charles Manson’s acoustic guitar. This top museum is open at 10 am daily. The last tickets are sold 60 minutes before closing. Alcatraz East Crime Museum has updated its board of crime experts, which includes Derwin Bradley, a retired master police officer; James R. Knight, a crime writer; Robin Maynard, a certified crime scene investigator in Florida; Derek Newport, a law enforcement veteran who worked for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for 20 years; and Judge Belvin Perry, Jr., who presided over the notorious case against Casey Anthony, among others.
